Totally baked
There is no fying in this recipe for the calorie conscientious.
Ingredients:
6 chicken breast halves (boneless)
1 egg
1 cup dry bread crumbs
25 oz/ 700 g of Italian pasta sauce – room temperature.
1 cup of shredded Mozzarella cheese
Grated Parmesan cheese.
Method:
Preheat the oven to 400 F/ 200°C.
Beat an egg. Dip the chicken breasts in the beaten egg, then coat with bread crumbs. Spray the baking dish with vegetable oil. Place the chicken breasts in the dish and cook uncovered for about 20 minutes.
Pour the sauce over the chicken and top with Mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with Parmesan on top. Bake for a further 10 minutes. Warning: Don’t use cold refrigerated pasta sauce or the baking dish may crack! Heat in a microwave or pot if necessary.
Serve with rice or pasta.
